WORLDS OF FUN -- Oktoberfest 2008


 Welcome to the new Oktoberfest at Worlds of Fun.



The KC Leiderkranz Singers were the opening act of the day in Scandinavia



A very talented group who sang folks songs and polkas in German.



An accordian player accompanied the singers.



Before we knew it, it was time to tap the first keg of the day.



The honor of "Kegmeister" today went to Mr. Frank Wilburn, the park's GM.



Filling up the first glass for the the conductor of the Leiderkranz Singers



She wasted no time getting her glass once it was full.



At Festahaus Europa, the Bavarian Brass band was performing



At Festahaus Scandinavia the German dancers and band were performing.



They also had a beer slide competition and an open bar



Over in the Scandinavia plaza, an organ grinder was giving demonstrations.



Overall a very successful festival and I would imagine it will return in 2009.
