SCHLITTERBAHN KANSAS CITY | Trip Report 08.16.09
Welcome to the BRAND NEW Schlitterbahn Vacation Village Waterpark
located in Kansas City, Kansas, near the Kansas Speedway.
After walking through the entrance arch, you make your way down a pathway...
... to this building, which also serves as the park's
ticket center and main gift shop.
Inside on one of the walls, there is a map which shows just how large this
project will eventually be. It's going to be huge and I personally cannot wait.
Crossing a bridge at the rear exit of the building, and the entrance to the park
you encounter a currently "static" train. This train will eventually take guests
from one side of Phase 1 to the other side of the current attractions.
Also off to the left are two ferries which will eventually connect the waterpark
to the riverwalk shopping and entertainment area. This place is going to be awesome.
Walking a little further towards the park you get your first glimpse of the
massive Torrent River, which is the largest attraction of its kind in the world.
You can also see the sole waterslide complex tower the park currently has as of now.
Let's head the way and check it out first.
