AMERICAN GOTHIC HOUSE | Trip Report 07.16.10
Mom and I thought that this was too funny to pass up a photo.
Heading outside now we see the actual house that was the
inspiration for the painting.
The most notable feature is, of course, the gothic window upstairs.
The house has been name as an Iowa & a National Historic Site.

Here was the thing that surprised me. The backside of the house
features another Gothic window. The wife must have been fond of them.
A cool thing about the museum was that they had clothes for you to
dress-up and make your own American Gothic parody. (Mom and me)
I thought the one of my parents turned out quite well.
Dad wanted a shot of all three of us.
So if you find yourself in the middle of nowhere Iowa it is
definitely worth a stop to check it out.
