In 2008 Worlds of Fun will be celebrating it's 35th Season!
Since the park opened in 1973, the park has thrilled over 50 Million guests. Things have changed over the years, but the mission of providing quality family fun for it guests has remained the same... and as for the thrills the park offers, they just keep getting better with age!
MAMBA one of the tallest, longest and steepest rollercoasters in the world, was unleashed in 1998. Now celebrating 10 years of thrills, MAMBA, one of the top 25 steel rollercoasters in the world, continues to be a park favorite, thrilling guests with it's 205 foot drop and 70mph speeds. The coaster was designed by Steve Okamoto from Morgan Mfg Inc and is still considered one of his best designs. Come to Worlds of Fun in 2008 and wish the snake a Happy 10th Anniversary!
MIDWAY IMPROVEMENTS
Hungry guests are tempted with the aroma of fresh cinnamon rolls at the new CINNABON Bakery located in the Front Street Shops Complex. This new dinning option will offer most of the same appetizers that have made Cinnabon a favorite for those with a sweet tooth.
The smell of fresh roasted treats fills the air from the new Bavarian Nut Stand. Which will provide another snack option for Worlds of Fun Guests.
Other improvements include a brand new shooting gallery and revamped park merchandise locations, such as a value priced $5-and-under store and a “for girls only” boutique. The quality of restrooms is important to park visitors, so three more restroom locations are remodeled for the 2008 season.
NEW FESTIVALS AND A NEW HAUNT
Worlds of Fun offers new special events during the Celebrate America festival occurring every Saturday and Sunday in July. These themed weekends include concerts, unique food offerings, special shows, and more.
Introducing OKTOBERFEST! A new festival that will bring the fun and energy of this German tradition to Worlds of Fun. Come to Worlds of Fun September 6, 7, 13, and 14 this year to try out the cuisine and catch all of the entertainment as the park will have you singing along and going "Ooomp PAH PAH!"
This year HALLOWEEN HAUNT goes for the POWER OF EIGHT! With the addition of another Extreme Haunt, the park is taking terror to a new level. Experience house full of blood seeking vampires, an insane asylum that is being overrun by the inmates, a summer camp overrun by zombies and mutants, a gothic cemetary, a carnival gone wrong and a BRAND NEW THRILL. HALLOWEEN HAUNT at Worlds of Fun -- Everyone is DYING to GO!
