SCHLITTERBAHN KANSAS CITY | PARK UPDATE 05.25.12
Welcome to Media Day 2012 at Schlitterbahn KC.
These are all season passholders getting their
passes processed before their "sneak peek" day.
Chris Ozimek started off the Opening Ceremony
by welcoming the media and season passholders.
He then outlined all of the new additions to
the park for the 2012 season.
Next, Terri Adams, the Chief Operating Officer
for Schlitterbahn Waterparks addressed the crowd.
Finally, Becky Blake, the Director of kansas
Travel & Tourism Division talked about how the
park was a great addition to area and helped
bring in tourism dollars to the state.
After the presentations, it was time to check out
the new additions. The first we visited was the
Boogie Bahn surf rider.
The Boogie Bahn creates a sheet of water to simulate
perfect surfing conditions for guests to surf on.
Some of the more experienced riders were able to put
on a pretty good show for the media watching.
Of course all things must come to an end
and there were some spectacular wipe outs.
When you do "wipe out" the ride washes
you out of the basin and onto the drain.
So that is the Boogie Bahn. It will be
a very popular attraction at the park.
