Busch Gardens Tamp - Mardi Gras

We had the pleasure of visiting BGT during their Mardi Gras festival

They had some fun decorations

Looks like we caught a dance party

Once they finished their dance party they went to their separate spots and handed out beads - kind of like a "trick-or-treat" but Mardi Gras themed

Juggling Jacks

The sun says it is time to party

Their parade is more of a promenade but still fun

It doesn't last very long, so if you want to see it definitely be on time

Fun event with some specialty food offerings as well
Glad we got to experience it

Busch Gardens Tampa - Animals

Welcome back to Busch Gardens Tampa.
In this update, we will focus on the animals that call this park home

One of the best ways to see the animals up close is the Serengeti Express

I find if you sit on the left side you will have the better views

The free roaming animals are just amazing to look at

There are a lot giraffes out here

A zebra friend and some type of cattle but I forget their proper name

Heading into the next section

Ostrich.  We're pretty sure she is sitting on an egg

More zebra

White Rhino up in the shade

"Fast Food"

Back in the actual park you can see the elephants

Walk-a-bout Way is home to the kangaroos

They just chill

So unbothered by everything

I'm not sure this guy was supposed to be out of the pen, but he was just soaking up the sun

Flamingo

Pretty topiary of a butterfly

Capybara

Tiger

Tortoise

Sloth

Komodo Dragon

Penguins

Lowland Gorilla

Florida Natives

The park has so much to offer besides the rides.
BGT has an amazing collection of animals

Busch Gardens Tampa

Welcome to Busch Gardens Tampa

Kumba is back in operation and is running great

We were disappointed to learn that these are now an upcharge.

Phoenix Rising was a new coaster for us.  It is a family B&M inverted

Serengeti Swing is their giant S&S screaming swing.  It is quite impressive how high it goes

Definitely the reason for our trip - Cheetah Hunt is back open

This coaster is just a lot of fun

Another new coaster for us - Cobra's Curse

Very unique elevator lift followed by 3 different sections where you go forward, backwards and then free spin

Still our favorite B&M inverted rollercoaster

The below ground level parts of this ride are what makes it so elite

Tigris was another new coaster for us

We are getting closer to have ridden all of the Sky Rocket IIs in the States

Air Grover was yet another new coaster for us.
This thing was more fun than it should have been.

I know we said that Cheetah Hunt was the reason we were here, but honestly we really wanted to ride this beast for ourselves, finally.  Iron Gwazi was a lot of fun.  I personally think it might be my favorite RMC but even if it isn't, it's definitely top 3.  We got 8 laps over two days on it

We were bummed that SkeiKra and Falcon's Fury were closed during our visit, but we knew they would be down going in.  The best part about this park is that rides are only one side of it.  Check out our update featuring the animals of BGT
