Opening Weekend (SFSTL)

Welcome to Opening Day 2023.  It is currently 33*F degrees out

They had the front mall all decorated for Spring

We headed up the hill to Catwoman first

Apparently these boys did not check the weather forecast for today.
It was really cold up top.  The wind was really whipping

I remembered today whey I never ride in an even row on Eagle.  Ouch

Boss was closed today so we decided to go on Supergirl next.

I don't think we have ever spun as much on this ride as we did today

We headed to Mr. Freeze next.  It was only running one train, but the other train was in the maintenance bay so it might be running two trains by next weekend

Batman seemed to be flying through its course today

I did my annual ride on Boomerang and Ninja today.  Done for the season with them

They were only running one train on the Mine Train today which made the line longer than it needed to be

Not bad for an Opening Day at Six Flags.  We look forward to the rest of the season

Opening Weekend (SFSTL)

Welcome to Six Flags St. Louis' 50th Anniversary Season

The park is currently celebrating Spring Breakaway

Special decorations and activities can be found during the festival

Giant Beach Pong is going on at the entrance to Hurricane Harbor

Special Spring flags are flying on the front shops

There's a Dance Party in the Palace Gardens area

They have a DJ set up on the Palace Front Porch Stage

There's a fun photo prop you can take photos with

Since this was the first day of the season we made our way around the park to check out the rides

American Thunder is running great. Still only loading every other row

Justice League is only loading one party per car, so the line moves slow

Mr. Freeze is only running one train and loading every other row.  Very long wait

Pademonium is loading one party per cart like normal

This is a great ride.  All seats being loaded

Screamin' Eagle is running great this year.  Every other row being used

Boomerang is loading every other row

All seats being used on SkyScreamer.  No forced doubling up

Fireball is loading one party per section.  You won't be facing strangers

Minetrain is loading every other row

Ninja is loading every other row

Batman is loading every other row

Everything is in bloom at Six Flags St. Louis right now and it is just beautiful.
Looking forward to a great season of thrills

Opening Weekend (SFSTL)

Welcome to Opening Weekend 2018 at Six Flags St. Louis.  Let's cut to the chase, it's cold and the weather for Opening Weekend is less than ideal.

Batman is running backwards this Spring.

I rode it 3 times and ended up "breaking" it on the third trip resulting in an evacuation from the brake run and a walk back to the station.

Ninja got its "one and only courtesy ride" of the year today.

Yep.  Still rough and still difficult for a tall guy to fit into.

River King Mine Train is another coaster that's hard on tall people.

Unlike Ninja, I will put up with the lack of room as I like this ride.

I did not, however, enjoy sitting on the brake run for 20 minutes.  Yep, I "broke" another coaster.

Does anyone else find Spinsanity to be boring?  Maybe the disk is too big or something.  It just doesn't seem as forceful as other installations that I've ridden.

It was really windy and cold up there today.

I was surprised to see Boomerang actually operating.

It was also very cold up there.

I thought for sure that I would have my 3rd broken coaster of the day with Screamin' Eagle as they stopped the train on the lift.  Turns out, it was to yell at a person for having their cell phone out.

I don't think I have ever seen the train cross here before.

Pandemonium seemed to be the only ride with a real line today.

Justice League time.

Had a good ride.  Seemed like most of the effects were working, including the Lex Bot smoke screen.

This coaster is appropriately named for today.

I've figured out that there is actually more leg room in the back seat of each car instead of the front.

Had a great time.  Hopefully it's warmer for my next visit.
