ATTRACTIONS

Welcome to our Halloween Haunt coverage of the Haunted Attractions

SHADOWMORE CEMETERY

This was new this year and is located in the East Asia section

I am not really sure what this is supposed to be.  There weren't any screamsters so it isn't a scare zone

The park refers to it as an experience

So I guess it is just a fancy decorated area

GHOST TRAIN

This was another experience they added this year.  All consists of is the train parked along Forum Road and some fog and lighting.  I didn't get it either

ABYSS

This was a new scare zone in Africa.  Supposedly themed to jungle scientists gone wrong.

Not really scary and honestly I am not sure about the theme

MALICE IN WONDERLAND

This is the current scare zone in Europa and like past years we were left wondering what the point is here.

The characters just sort of exist.  No one attempting to scare

OUTLAWS REVENGE

It has never been a strong scare zone, but at least the screamsters were trying.  This is mainly a sliders area and I did actually witness some actual guest interactions.

Sidenote - maybe the park should really reconsider how to operate scare zones before next season

BLOOD ON THE BAYOU

This has always been one of the stronger houses at the park.  Good visuals and decent jump scares

RIPPER ALLEY

This maze really needs to retire and a new concept put in its place.  Very disappointing

LORE OF THE VAMPIRE

This maze is 20 years old - and it shows.

The screamsters were either tired or bored and it fell very flat

BLOOD SHED

The KING of Halloween Haunt.  The screamsters here are top notch and you'll receive plenty of jump scares

CORNSTALKERS

Coming in clutch again this year is Cornstalkers.  The only thing holding this maze back is the fact that guests are bound and determined to make it a conga line which does not allow the screamsters to reset properly to do jump scares.

PUMKIN EATER

This was the surprise hit last year and it was pretty good again this season

ZOMBIE HIGH

This gets our vote for most improved maze from last season.  There were some decent jump scares for a change

ENTERTAINMENT

New this year is Spectral Sisters performing on the River City Stage 

The long running Haunted Homecoming returns to the Moulin Rouge

This year's version was exceptionally good

This show continues to amaze and that is why it is one of WOF's longest running shows

The Awakening has been moved to the actual Gateway Gardens stage this year

The screamsters emerge from the catering area this year

The Overlord makes his appearance

The Wicked Witches of the East and West make their appearances

HAUNT is officially open

Last Laff is back again this season near the Tivoli.

Much like last year, we were not fans of the show

Conjure the Night returns to the Gateway Gardens stage again this year

I honestly feel like this show is redundant with Haunted Homecoming, but it does give the guests something else to watch

I guess the big difference is that Conjure focuses a little more on dance than singing

Worlds of Fun - Halloween Haunt

 

Worlds of Fun is currently celebrating Halloween Haunt.  In this update we will focus on the decorations around the park.  Be sure to check out the other updates that cover entertainment and attractions

Really like the entrance icons.  I wish the park would install a permanent icon in this area especially now that they longer have Carnivale.

A neat gazebo photo prop in Americana

The Wizard of Oz decorations return

The Witch's legs always crack me up

A new addition this year is this jungle scene located in Africa

It is giving "Camp Gonnagitcha" vibes

The Ghoul-eria Haunt store can be found in Europa

Jack is back near the Tivoli

This new decoration can be found near Scrambler

The Camp bus has returned and is being used for Zombie High
