Oceans of Fun Construction

Let's check back in at Oceans of Fun.

The new locker pavilion has gone vertical.

This will be the new home to Chickie's and Pete's.

Crocodile Isle is getting closer to being ready to go.

New signage on Beach Bites.

Getting ready to put on the new chairs.

Diamond Head looks great with its new paint and fiberglass.

The signage on the wave pool building is finally going up.

Finally the drop capsules have arrived and are scheduled to be installed today.

Will you be brave enough to step into one of these?

Flying into the area and into place.

Maneuvering the orange pod into place.

Seriously, this is going to be an impressive complex.

All three capsules are now in place.

Looking good.  The park will be open before you know it.

World Fest (SDC)

Welcome to World Fest at SDC.

Some fun decorations on the square.

Streichmusick Alder from Switzerland was performing at the Gazebo.

They played an alpine horn.

and some huge cowbells.

Ecuador Manta was performing at the bottom of Hill Street.

In the Red Gold Heritage Hall, Spettacolo Musicale was performing.

The show had some very talented singers.

It honestly reminded me of a Vegas lounge show.

Very entertaining show.

In the Red Gold courtyard, Viva Italia is taking place.

It might be a bit too much.

Tastes of the World Food Court is back at the Frisco Barn.

Dhearbil Finnegan and Robin Slater were back with their trio.

Kerry Christensen was back with his accordion, yodeling and alpine horn skills.

Island Fire returns at the Riverfront Playhouse.

Everything is better with fire in it.

In the Opera House, Amamos Argentina is performing featuring Los Gauchos Pampos.

There was also aerial ballroom dancing - she was on a bungee chord.

But the Gauchos were the real star of the show.

Another great day at the 'City!

Oceans of Fun Construction

Time for another update from Oceans of Fun.
If you look closely, you'll see that the "closed" fence has been installed.

Seriously, I really like the new logo.

There is a "goodbye" sign on the back of the gate now.

From up on Hurricane Falls, you can see that slide pieces are finally going up.

The body slides on the right and the tube slides on the left.

Once all of the pieces are in place, this is going to be a big knot of slides.

This purple slide is the Constrictor.

Work being done on one of the tube slides.

One of the tube slides will have a steep drop and the other will have a double down.

The exit of the Constrictor slide.

The body slides waiting on their runouts to be installed.

We checked back later in the day and the runouts had been placed as had the bottoms of the tube slides.

Monsoon is getting a new deck on the bridge.

Work is continuing on the Captain Kidd's/Crocodile Isle area.

This is the upper pool area where the pirate ship is located.

Finally, Crocodile Isle is getting some new features this year.
