Dutchman's Deck (MOA)

Welcome to the Dutchman's Deck Adventure Course at Mall of America.

There are 3 different attractions available at the Adventure Course.

The most noticeable attraction is the tallest Sky Trail ropes course in the world.  The Ghostly Gangplank challenges guests to climb 56 feet above Nickelodeon Universe.

The next attraction is the Barnacle Blast the longest indoor zipline in North America.

This is a two way zipline that takes you across the park.

At the end of the first zipline, which takes you 55 feet in the air above the park, you reach this tower.  Then you climb up a few steps and then zip back to the other side of the park on another line.

The final attraction is the Anchor Drop which consists of two enclosed spiral slides.

Pricing for the attraction is $15.99 (includes all three attractions) or $12 if you have a Nickelodeon Universe wristband for the day.

Dutchman's Deck (MOA)

Welcome to Dutchman's Deck Adventure Course.

The Adventure Course has really grown up since the first time we visited.  While the original ropes course is still there - several new activities have been added.

Let's focus on the ropes course first though.  The course features a total of 3 levels plus one activity on the 4th level (which is the plank).

Participants are secured in a harness and then strapped to a rope which goes on a track above them.  This keeps the participants safe through each of the obstacles.

The newest addition to the Adventure Course is a double zipline.  You board on the 4th level and then zip across the entire Nickelodeon Universe park.

The line goes all the way to the other side of the park (near Jimmy Neutron for those familiar with the layout of Nickelodeon Universe).  There you are transferred to another lip and you return back to the ropes course area.

When you get back to the ropes course, you are on the lower platform under the cannon prop.  I have to admit, it was quite enjoyable zipping through the air over the park.

The final activity (and your exit from the course) are these two twisty slides called Anchor Drop.  You ride on potato sack which helps you go a bit faster.  Honestly, the slide were probably my least favorite of the activities at the course.

The Adventure Course was a lot of fun.  You can do all 3 activities for just over $15, which in my opinion is some cheap entertainment.  A Nickelodeon Universe wristband is not required to do this attraction, which makes it a cheaper option for families.

Dutchman's Deck (MOA)

Welcome to Dutchman's Deck at Mall of America.

The main attraction here is the ropes course.

There are four levels of obstacles for you to transverse.

As you go higher in the complex, the complexity of the obstacles goes up as well.

Participants are secured with a harness around their lower torso and bottom.

Then that harness is secured to a slack line that has a roller in the track above them.

The ultimate obstacle on the course is the Gang Plank where your walk out on a small board, take the two ropes that are provided and lean forward over the park below.  It's quite the rush.

The exit to the ropes course is now these two twisted spiral slides called Anchor Drop.

Once you enter the slides you cannot go back to the ropes course, but you can ride the slides as many times as you would like.  There are two different ones to choose from.

It's a fun place to visit - and it can be quite the workout.

Dutchman's Deck (MOA)

Welcome to Dutchman's Deck at Mall of America.

You might notice that there are now TWO attractions at Dutchman's Deck.

The main attraction is still the Ghostly Gangplank ropes course.

There are four levels of obstacles to conquer.

They start off relatively easy on the lower level and get progressively harder as you go up.

The main obstacle is the gangplank which is high above the mall below.

The new addition to the complex is the Anchor Drop slides.

This is included with your admission and is the new "exit" to the complex.

They have a cool lighting package at night.  They're pretty fun, but not overly fast.

Dutchman's Deck (MOA)

Welcome to the Flying Dutchman's Ghostly Gangplank

This is a new ropes course above Nickelodeon Universe

Climbing up to the first level

By the time you get to the top level, you are very close to the ceiling of the mall

It's fun and scary at the same time

The final obstacle is a gangplank high over the park below

It's fun and a great addition to the park
