The Boss - NOW OPEN (SFSTL)

The Boss has opened for the season.

The new turn really stands out with its lighter colored wood.

Here's a better look at the new curve.

You can actually see the wooden supports for the old double helix

Here you have a better view of the old helix still standing.

You have a lot more momentum now going up into the double up.

There is some violent ejector airtime in the double up now.

Here is where the new track ends.

So, how is the ride now?  Honestly if you ride in the front of the train you're going to have a good time.  The new turn is actually rougher (in my mind) than some of the older parts of the ride.

I just don't think that it is broken in yet and that's the issue.

Whether you like the new ending or not... The Boss is back for the season.

The Boss Reprofile (SFSTL)

The Boss went under the knife this off season with some major reprofiling.

The final double helix was removed and a simple 180 degree curve was put in its place.

Here you can see how the old track aligns with the new element.

The banking of the new curve is similar to that of the old double helix.

It appears most of the work on the curve is complete.

Here you can see that the track still does the pop up into the double up.

A better look at the banking of the new curve.  The Boss is to open Late Spring.

The Boss Reprofile (SFSTL)

The Boss received some major re-profiling this off season.  The double helix at the end of the ride has been replaced by a simple 180 degree turn.  The double up into the brake run is still present as can be seen on the left side of this photo.
