Six Flags St. Louis - 55th Anniversary Celebration

Welcome to the 55th Anniversary Celebration Weekend at Six Flags St. Louis
In the Palace Gardens you can find this fun photo op backdrop near the train station

A special 55th Anniversary Display has been set up in the Palace Lobby but just outside you can find this restored Moon Car

There is also this boat from the Log Flume

The first display you are greeted with inside is one that has descriptions of all of the original lands for the park

The next case has memorabilia for the Screamin' Eagle, which is celebrating 50 seasons this year

This case features the World Record plaque for Screamin' Eagle and photo of several of the coasters at the park

The middle cases feature a mock up of the entrance to Miss Kitty's Saloon

Here you can see different costumes for past shows

A salute to Hurricane Harbor

A salute to all of the big shows the park has hosted in the past - including Dolly Parton

A Salute to Food Services and an award they won back in the day

Another exciting reveal for this weekend was the return of the Batmobile

This is the original 1993 Batmobile that debuted with the ride.  It has been in a lengthy refurbishment and actually just received tires today so that it could be driven into place

Now the question comes up, what happens to it next season?
Who knows.  Let's just enjoy it this season while we can

The final special event this weekend was the "Let's Celebrate 55 Seasons" Dance Party at the Palace Porch featuring the Looney Tunes

It was great seeing so many characters out

The Dance Party takes place at 1pm, 3pm, and 5pm daily this weekend

It was a great day at the park.
Hopefully you can make it out this weekend to help celebrate 55 years of Six Flags St. Louis

Six Flags St. Louis - Park Update

A new addition to the park icon is the Enchanted Parks plate at the bottom

Something we forgot to get a photo of last week is the completely redone loading platform at Thunder River.  All new wood.  So much nicer.

Some new Screamin' Eagle souvenirs at Flags

I'm not really sure why these boxes were added, but there are new "props" next to the Studio Store

Here is the new home of the Discount Store since its former home is now the permanent Character Meet and Greet location for the park in Palace Gardens

Until next time

Six Flags St. Louis

Welcome to the 55th Season for Six Flags St. Louis
It will have different name (Mid-America) starting next season as the park was sold this past off-season and is honestly on "borrowed time" using the Six Flags name

Started the day with American Thunder and she's running rough

I had a zen ride on Justice League

Even with so many things broke, ended up with a decent score

Apparently this is the only backwards Mr. Freeze now since the backwards train at SFOT has disappered

That's fine.  Ours is better anyway
Wonder what its name will be next year

Pandemonium.  Another zen ride.  Crazy how this was a walk-on

Is this the smoothest coaster in the park?
Very possible

The Joker was actually open.  It also had its fog effects working.  Now the fun house is never going to open, but that's fine.  Again new name incoming for next year

I did indeed ride The Boss, because I hate myself.
But for some reason I have to ride it every visit

The Screamin' Eagle is 50 years old - and she definitely rides like it

Catwoman Whip continues to be my favorite flat ride at this park

Fireball was operational!

Boomerang was also operational!

The wind gusts sure made for an interesting ride today

River King Mine Train is my guilty pleasure ride at this park

Robber Free rides on the Train today

After not operating most of last season, it was nice to see Spinsanity back

BATMAN!

We'll be back next week for the 55th Celebration!

Six Flags St. Louis - Park Update

Welcome to the 55th Season of Six Flags St. Louis...
and the last (meaning it will NOT be a Six Flags branded park next season).

The Log Flume is open (and both sides too!)

Notice how Enchanted Parks (the new owner) has already removed the Six Flags name plates on the logs

Justice League was rough today.  The Cyborg animatronic was frozen.  Many of the screens in the load didn't work.  Strangely the Joker animatronic and the fire blast did work today

Thunder River was open.  Look how nice the water is.
The ride received a completely rebuilt load area for this season

The large TV has been removed on the Pandemonium marquee

The chariots are still missing on the Carousel

New signage celebrating the 50th Anniversary of The Screamin' Eagle

Lots of new signage around the park promoting the new owners

Hurricane Harbor wasn't open today, but it was nice to see the Tube Slide complex and Big Kahuna all received new paint jobs this off season.  They look much better

The Festival line up for the first part of this summer

The Fast Lane signage on the former Flash Pass booth looks strange.
I wonder what they'll call it next season
