Six Flags St. Louis - Joker Update

 

The park got serious about construction at The Joker this past week

The construction wall even has artwork on it

Lots of heavy machinery is on site

It appears that the main focus right now is to set the 4 main footers and to remove any leftover concrete

Here are some of the parts used for digging the hole for the footers

They currently have three of the four footers set

This is the same one (northwest corner) in the picture above and you can see it appears to be filled.

This is the southwest corner footer

This is the northeast corner footer - and the one closest to Super Girl

They appear to still be working on the southeast corner footer

Here you can see the prep work for that fourth footer taking place

This is the rebar cage that will be placed into that footer once they have the hole dug

These appear to be concrete molds and will more than likely be used for the tops of the footers

This is approximately where the fun house will be located

This view will look quite different later this season with The Joker swinging directly at us (and away)

Six Flags St. Louis - Park Update

 

Super Girl's exit has been rerouted due to The Joker construction

The exit is now the same as the Flash Lane entrance and exits next to the control booth

The Log Flume is now open for the season

Be warned that Justice League no longer has a single rider line. 

Yes, we also think that was an asinine move by the park.

Finally, this hanging pot thing has appeared in the Palace Gardens.

Silver Dollar City - Park Update

 

New shops near Riverblast - and yes that is where the Mountain Cookies are located

We didn't start the fire ... the real flames on the sign look really nice

The Pretzel Dog shop is now open

You order and pay here - then you pick up around the corner

Nice dining area to enjoy your food

504 is currently doing the pulling

We had a very entertaining "feeding" on our trip.  Poor JR really couldn't hang after trying some very sour candy

Another great day - we highly recommend visiting on a Monday during this festival

Silver Dollar City - Silver Dollar Saloon

 

A brand new season of the Silver Dollar Saloon has opened for the season

There are several new faces this year with only Miss Georgia being the lone returner with the gals

Roots and Kuntz are both back this season

They of course keep things interesting for Bart the entire show

This was hilarious - and I'm not going to give any context

Silver Dollar City - Street Fest

 

Welcome back to Silver Dollar City

The first major festival of this season is STREET FEST

There are a lot of specialty foods available around the park and they do have a tasting passport available if you are interested.

In the Riverfront Playhouse, the Anastasini Circus is performing.  You'll absolutely love Coco, their clown who entertains before the show and then several times in between acts

These two brothers performed some Icarian Games where the older brother would launch the younger brother into various flips

The Anastasini was very entertaining and definitely worth seeing

Sometimes you come across a show that you just cannot describe in words and that show is most definitely Kristy Sellar's Imaginarium currently playing in the Opera House

It would be easy to label the show as pole dancing interacting with multimedia, but that really does the show no justice.  It is just something you have to watch for yourself

The show also features an aerial hoop artist

If you only have time to see one show during Street Fest, it needs to be this one

They had some very random acts on the Square this year.  One was where they had park guests pretend to be animals and other circus things and the other was this Pom Pon Parade.  It could be be described as a generic Chinese dragon

Over by Red Gold, the Living Garden was back with a few new characters

The crowd favorite fountain lady was back again this season

The final year of Street Fest runs through April 29
