SuperSplash USA - Construction Update

Since our last visit, they have added blue and white lanes to Patriot's Plunge

The lanes now have two white on both sides with two blue in the middle and then red sides with a blue undercoat for the entire slide

Elsewhere in the park, Aventure Reef - the new waterfortress has gone vertical

Super Splash USA - Construction Update

Well this is definitely different than when we drove by yesterday.
They have coated the section that was white red

Here you can get a better view of the red.

As most people know, this slide was bought used from another park and the slide was yellow and blue when it was there.  This red is quite striking and will match the name "Patriots Plunge" a lot better

I have a feeling this is going to be quite popular this summer at the Lake

Super Splash USA - Construction Update

Lots of progress has been made since our last visit two weeks ago.
They have put the shade covering up on the load platform and they have completed the railing on the stairs

They have also tightened all the pieces of the slide together

You can see here that they have prepped the surface of the slide, which is why it is white

They have also started on the bottom of the slide, which is why it is mostly blue with only a few spots of the former yellow color peeking through

This slide was sitting behind the wave pool.  I think it is a former "shot gun" slide that was part of the former activity pool inside the lazy river area.

Super Splash USA - Construction Update

Time to check back in on the progress being made at Super Splash USA

Since our last time by the park, it looks like they have made significant progress on the new Patriot Plunge mat racers

With the American flag proudly placed at the top, I think we can safely assume that the ride has been topped off

It appears that most of the slide is now in place and the workers on the lift seem to be tightening up bolts to finish off the build

I have to say that this was a great location for the slide.  Very noticeable from the highway and it definitely has the locals talking

Super Splash USA - Construction Update

Welcome back to Super Splash USA (formerly Big Surf )
As promised at their press event, work has started already on the new mat racer slide

A large pile of dirt from recent excavations on this new expansion

The footers for the top deck of the mat racer are currently going in.

We're not really sure what this is, but it is a very large tube or roll of something

Here you can see the footers for the supports of the bunny hops and run out of the new mat racer.  The mat racer will be located to the east of the parking lot in a new section of the park

Super Splash USA - Construction Update

They wasted no time getting the new logo up on the park's marquee

More pieces to the mat racer have arrived in the parking lot

The weathering on the slide pieces makes it very obvious this is a used slide

It makes sense that they are staging the pieces here as they will be building it not that far away in the park

The park has stated that construction for the slide will begin just after the new year and that it will be ready for the new season in May

Super Splash USA - New for 2025

Big Surf has been bought by new owners and is now Super Splash USA

The first new addition will be Patriot's Plunge, a 51' foot long 6-lane mat racer

The next new addition will be a large waterfortress that will be the main focal point of the new kids area - Adventure Reef

Here is a look at the map for 2025 and where the two new additions will be placed in the park.

Super Splash USA - Construction Update

And now for something that was definitely not on our 2024 Bingo Card - Big Surf Waterpark at Lake of the Ozarks will be adding a new waterslide next season.  The last time they added as slide was way back in the early 2000s with the addition of Zambezi Falls (a half pipe style slide)

Looking at the design of the slide pieces that have already arrived at the park, it is fairly easy to see that this is a six-lane mat racing slide.  This will be a huge hit for the park.

After doing some investigating and photo comparing, we have come to the conclusion that this is the former Dolphin Dash from the Columbus Zoo's Zoombezi Bay Waterpark.  Even though this is a used waterslide, this is a major deal for this Mid-Missouri Waterpark
