Dragon Slayer - NOW OPEN (Adventureland)

Dragon Slayer is officially open at Adventureland Resort in an all new area of the park

Which side will you pick?  Knight side (which they claim is more intense) or Squire side (which they claim is less intense)

Unlike the larger models, only one cart can be loaded/unloaded at a time.  This didn't seem to effect the capacity too much

Heading up the lift

First off, I want to say that the setting is perfect.  It is very visible within the park

We rode both sides and honestly did not see too much difference on the amount of spins.  We found that if you start with your back to the control booth you will spin more (both sides).  If you are a single rider, you will spin more if you sit on the inside seat then the outside seat.

In addition to the new Dragon Slayer, they also moved Puff the Dragon (now called Dragon's Nest) to this new area.  Way to go Adventureland on having a cohesive new themed area at the park.

Dragon Slayer (Adventureland)

Welcome to the new Dragon Island.  A huge entrance gate flanks the pathway to the new area

Dragon Slayer towers over the area

They moved Puff the Dragon over here as well and it is now called Dragon's Pit.  This looks like a great new area and we cannot wait to see the finished product with Dragon Slayer operational

Puff the Dragon has been moved to next to Dragon Slayer and will be now known as Dragon Nest starting this season

Dragon Slayer is now doing full test runs with one cart on the track

One thing that we are noticing is that the cart flips a lot on the very top level

There is not much flipping on the second level and the seats seem to just bob

There is a massive trim on this ravine turn that almost brings the train to a complete stop

The train does come to a complete stop on the final ravine turn before going into the station area

Today at Dragon Slayer, they are laying concrete for the queue area

Here you can see into the load/unload area of the ride

Working on the side closest to the Lake now

The building closest to us is the maintenance area

More of the load/unload area

A look at the finished area of concrete closest to Tornado

It appears that Dragon Slayer is now just waiting for warmer weather to begin testing

It appears that the chain has already been pulled for the ride's lift

I love how the Tornado frames the ride

Definitely a great location for the ride

The skyline of the park has definitely been changed for the better.

The lift hill is almost to the top now.  The platform for the motor has been installed.  We figure the entire track circuit will be completed before next week
