Catwoman Whip - NOW OPEN (SFSTL)

NOW OPEN!

The All New Catwoman Whip is NOW OPEN at Six Flags St. Louis.
One thing we want to point out here is that there is a Single Riders lane

There she is in all her glory

Since this was Opening Day for the new attraction, Members will given ERT at the start of the day and were also given this cool logo pin

Like most of the new superhero themed attractions at Six Flags parks, there are displays with facts about the character in the queue line

The Catwoman logo on the back building has glowing eyes

There are several cat statues around the area

The ride uses an interesting collapsing pyramid for load/unload.  The entire structure will become flat when the ride is in operation

The seating areas feature 4 riders seated back-to-back for a total of 8 passengers per arm

The ride is a lot of fun and actually you get "two rides" -- after being loaded, the ride will cycle.  At the end of the cycle you will stop at the top while the other side is loaded.  After it is loaded, you will get another cycle in the opposite direction before being unloaded.

One thing to be aware of on the ride is that it does flip - almost every rotation

Some people will be thrilled by that fact, others will be scared to death

The ride cycle is decent and since you get "two" it feels like you are getting your money's worth for your wait in line .. and let's be honest, it is a long wait.

While I am not sure how Catwoman fits into the Chicago section of the park, it has really made this section of the park look better.

The ramp project continues in the Screamin' Eagle Plaza

Catwoman Whip is getting closer to being ready to open

Here is the queue area.  I like the Catwoman logo on the back building

We're hearing that May 25 with media day and then Opening Day will be Memorial Day Weekend

There's still a lot of work to be done at Catwoman Whip

The queue area is slowly coming together

We are guessing that it will probably be a Memorial Day Weekend opening for this ride

The area around the new Catwoman Whip ride is still very much an active construction zone

In fact the pathway just past Boomerang and FireBall is still closed to guests

Over in the new Screamin' Eagle plaza you can get a better look at construction.  It will be interesting to see if this walkway area will need to be expanded or not

Looks like the queue area will go in front of the ride

The ride operation booth appears to have been installed

Photos really do not do the ride justice on just how tall it is

They were doing some work on the seats.  You'll notice they have not installed the load platform yet for the ride.

The ride started humming and we thought we might get to see it cycle

But this was all we got.

Seriously, the wingspan of this ride is a lot bigger than what I was expecting.
Looks like we might have a month left before Catwoman opens.  We'll keep you updated

Work continues on the Eagle Plaza area.

There has been a lot of demolition and it has really opened up the area

The giant logo sign for Screamin' Eagle is undergoing a renovation.  You can see that they recently painted the blue portion of the sign and they are now getting ready to do the white lettering

Again, the area is open now.

New stairs are being formed here where they removed the old ones.

This is basically the area where Catwoman Whip will be located

It will definitely be interesting to see how this area looks when completed

The Screamin' Eagle section of the park has become an active construction site.

As you can see, the entire area looks a lot different - and more open

Not only has Superman: Tower of Power been removed, all of the former gaming structures have been torn down as well

It is honestly crazy how different the area looks now

As mentioned before, Superman is no longer

You were not able to see the bottom of Screamin' Eagle from this angle before the demolition

The lowest covered section of queue for Screamin' Eagle has also been removed

Also no more gaming structures.

The building you see is a back of house maintenance building

It will be interesting to see how this area looks next season
