Fire in the Hole (SDC)

From US 76 you can see that a construction wall now surrounds the construction site

Lots of work going on today

We probably won't be able to see much until things go vertical from this side of the construction site

We're now inside the park and you can see that they are continuing to work on the giant footer for the ride.  It looks like they are getting ready for the next area to receive concrete.

Here is the progress on the giant footer - and what looks like a splash down in the back

Forming the next section of the footer

The construction worker gives you an idea of just how big this thing is

Lots of rebar

This might be the foundation for a wall going in

Random construction vehicle parked in the middle of the footer

You can see the splash down area better in this photo.

We found a marker near the kiddie swings in Fireman's Landing.  We are guessing it might be for the entrance pathway to the new ride.

Fire Update (SDC)

After the fire last fall, we did not know what the fate would be of Cowboy Jepp's.  We are happy to report that it will be reopening May 26th.

We're also happy to report that Duplicating Lathe was able to be saved

It is scheduled to reopen April 14th.

Now let's discuss the main area where the fire was.  It is still walled off.

With that being said, you can now walk around it.  This is the path to American Plunge from Hill Street.

Here is the walk way to Wildfire

This is the American Plunge plaza area.  The entry arch has not returned

Looking over the fence the area is still extremely vacant

It will be interesting to watch the park redevelop this area in the near future.

CIty Update (SDC)

Several changes around the park.  The first is the new trellis exiting the Hospitality House

Molly's Mill has been completely redone inside.

The Saloon Show is officially back in the Saloon this year

Lots of new wood on the final drop of American Plunge

It is nice to see the old ride get some much needed TLC

Flatbread is no more.  The stand now serves Corndogs and Tenders

Half Dollar Holler received a new sign

The Culinary School is no longer.  It will now be the home of Heartland Home Furnishings.  There will not be any demonstrations here though.  This is a design showroom.  The building has been completely gutted of anything to do with the Culinary School.  Heartland will open later this Spring

The Lake Silver Walking Loop was open today

I'm not sure how much longer we will be able to call it a "Lake" though.  A new peninsula was added this off season near the Dizzy Dogs.  We think that something might be moved over here soon.

Spring Ride Days (SDC)

Welcome to Opening Day 2022 at Silver Dollar City and to Spring Ride Days

We started the day in Wilson's Farm and we enjoyed soaring through the air on the Giant Barn Swing

Since we were in the area, we headed to Outlaw Run next.  Such a fun ride

Mystic River Falls was open and all four sides of the lift tower were operational today

Made a quick stop on Fireman's Landing to take a plunge on Fire Fall

Next it was off to the Grand Expo for a ride on the Wave Carousel

504 was on duty today and we had a great time taking the scenic tour out to see the Alfie

Yes the Flooded Mine is still operational.  It will be interesting to see for how much longer

Time Traveler was using two trains today.  Such a fun ride

American Plunge was also in operation today.

Two train day for Wildfire today as well

We plan to get as many rides as possible on Fire in the Hole this season

Two train day for Powder Keg as well.  Still my favorite ride in the park.

We had a lot of fun today at the park. It was super busy, but we still did everything we wanted to do.  Looking forward to a great season.  It was so nice to be back at the 'City
