Old Town USA

Welcome to Old Town.  Old Town is going through an identity shift and a lot of the former rides the park used to have are no longer here.

The Ferris Wheel is still here, but it is actually now operated by Fun Spot.

Other rides in the area are operated by a different operator.  This is the Vomatron.

This is Sling Shot.

They also have a Bungee Trampoline.  It'll be interesting to see the final product of Old Town's rides.  Whether or not it will be a separate entity or if it will all be part of Fun Spot moving forward.

There are two go-kart tracks at the park.  This is Vortex and the most popular.  It features a giant helix up and then the steepest banked curve (32 degrees) on any go-kart track.

You do get a nice long ride on the track so it is worth the wait.

Who is ready for a 4 story high climb?

The other track is called Chaos.  This is an elevated track, but a lot tamer than the Vortex.

The crown jewel of the park is the Mine Blower.

This Gravity Group designed ride is extremely intense.

Once you leave that first drop, it doesn't let up until you hit the final brakes.

The coaster features a roll right over the station.

Really like the light package it has at night.

Fun Spot Kissimmee is a great park, but it definitely does not have the capacity that the Orlando park has.  They really need to add some more go-kart tracks to take some of the pressure off the two that they have.

Boggy Creek Airboat Rides

Welcome to Southport Park, home of the Boggy Creek Airboat Rides.

The trees are beautiful here with their Spanish Moss.

Looks like we need to go to the left.

Some Gators from Gatorland are on display in the courtyard.

There is also a Native American village

The gator skins are pretty neat to look at.

The main reason we are here is for the Airboats.

Looks like one is heading out.

Here is the one that we will get to board.

We got a really good driver.  He was very knowledgeable about the area and knew where to look for gators.

Heading out from the dock area.

It is crazy that the water is only 3-4 feet deep.

It gets a little windy when he opens it up.

The first of many gators we would see on our trip.

We actually a full boat.

This little gator was not happy that we bothered him

We are really enjoying our trip.

Yes.  Those are cows out in the water.  Apparently they don't care that there are a lot of gators out here.

Heading back into the docks.

If you get the chance, we highly recommend visiting Boggy Creek Airboat Rides.
