Lost Island

Welcome to Lost Island Themepark in Waterloo, Iowa

The residents of Lost Island were putting on a show about the lore of the park in the front entrance area

Heading left first we entered the Mura section of the park

The award-winning dark ride Volkanu calls this section home

A trackless dark ride in the middle of nowhere Iowa.  Yes this is real

Rokava is next door.  Just a very bizarre ride

The newest addition to the park is Fire Runner, a RMC Raptor

They went hard with the theming in the queue line

This was a perfect addition to the park.  The station looks great

Love how it swooped over the station and close to the roof decoration

Other rides in this section include Shaman's Curse - a disko coaster

Mura Fury - a Zamperla Discovery Evolution

Next was the Yuta section which is headlined by Matugani

This hydraulic launched Intamin looper is a lot of fun

This dig site is called Pengali Ruin

Yuta Falls is a large log flume style ride with two lifts and drops

Kukui Station is the park's bumper cars

Moving into the Awa section, we see the Nika's Gift Carousel has finally arrived

Alzanu's Eye is the park's ferris wheel

Views from the Eye - here's Matugani

Fire Runner

Nopuko

Huge crowd today (unfortunately the park was really dead)

Zulawa Wave

Eeki Eeki Escape

Sea Swell

Awaati Water Battle

Akua Water Maze with Whale Bone Cafe in the background

Udara section

Skyborne Drop Tower

Nopuko Air Coaster - Vekoma SLC and one of the worst coasters out there

Amara Aviators

Dream Spinner

The park's kiddie coaster is Lokolo

Some of the junior rides in the Tamariki section

That concludes our day at Lost Island
Until next time

Six Flags St. Louis - Carousel

HUGE news from Six Flags St. Louis - after nearly 6 seasons, the Carousel is finally back in operation.  To celebrate the momentous return, they have added a carousel horse to the marquee sign

The Grand Ole' Carousel has been closed since 2019 when it was announced that they would be doing a complete and extensive renovation to the ride.

The ride was originally developed by Philadelphia Toboggan Company

Each horse has been painstakingly redone.  Taking all of the paint off down to the plaster.

Once to that level it was patched and sanded and then the paint layers were added one by one.

Jewels were added and each horse was given a distinct identity and name

The results are a ride that has literally been brought back to life

With that being said, the two war chariots are still missing - the park says that they will return later this season once they complete some last minute touches

It has been nearly 6 seasons in the making - was it worth the wait?
Perhaps, all we know is that it is nice to have the attraction back in operation

Six Flags St. Louis - Entertainment

New this year on the train (on the way to the St. Louis Station) is a show stop

The show "Watch Your Caboose!" features two train robbers interacting with the train's conductor

As one can imagine, it is fully of bad puns and silly gags

The show ends up with "blowing up the shack" instead of "blowing up the track" - oops

Missy Kitty's Saloon is back with an all new show - Fool's Gold

These three con-artists have been hired by Miss Kitty (unknowingly) and they are trying to steal her gold for some reason that's not explained

Trying to fit in with the rest of the cast

A poor audience member gets wrangled into the act

In the end all the cons can find is bags of chocolate.  Miss Kitty then reveals where she hides her gold (NSFW) and then for some reason, shares it.  Not sure about that - kind of a cute show though
