Gatorland

Welcome to GATORLAND

As soon as you are through the front gates you are greeted by these 3-5 year olds.

Gator Gully Splash Park - I assume this pretty popular when the weather is warmer.

Giant Tortoise

Gator Hatchlings.  They are not very old.

Panthers.

Extremely rare Leucistic Alligator.  They have white pigment with blotches of dark.  This not the same as being albino.  There are only 12 confirmed leucistic alligators in the world and 3 of them live at Gatorland.  They are extremely rare.

Speaking of albino, this is a true albino alligator.  It has no pigment whatsoever and pink eyes.  Albinos are actually more common than Leucistic alligators.  Neither can survive in direct sunlight.

This is Chester.  He loved eating dogs in Tampa.  He's 13.5' long and weighs over 1,000 lbs.  He doesn't like to play nice with the other gators so he has his own bachelor pad.

There are some big boys in this lake.

Flamingos.

There is apparently a gator in this lake that is almost 17' long.

The Gatorland Jumparoo Show is always fun to watch.

There's no way I would ever hand feed gators.

Some baby gators.

Petting Zoo.

Up in the Observation Tower at the Breeding Marsh

The boardwalk over the Breeding Marsh

There are a lot of gators at this place.

Cuban Crocodile

One of the beaches at the Breeding Marsh.

The Gator Wrestling Show is always entertaining.

Anyone else think that this guy is insane?

This is Bonecrusher II.  He's 14' long and weighs over 1,000lbs.  He can also jump 7' out of the water.

Bobcats

Upclose Encounters is a great show.  They show off some poisonous snakes and even some tarantulas.

The best part is when they bring out this giant Burmese Python.

Gatorland is a great place to visit.  It's very laid back compared to the other parks in Orlando.

Just make sure you budget enough time to see everything.  You're going to want to spend a good portion of your day here.

Coca Cola Orlando Eye

Welcome to the Orlando Eye

The Orlando Eye is a very tall ferris wheel.

I love the design of the seat in the middle of your capsule.

Heading on up and around.

You can see the loading platform slowly shrink away as we begin our accent.

Look it's Orlando.

There is the entertainment district that the Eye is located in.

Seriously this is a lot of fun.

We're nearing the top.

At the top.  You can tell because the support pole is straight up

Heading back down now.  Sea World is over that way somewhere.

It was nice that we got our own capsule for a change.

Heading back into the station.  It takes roughly 30 minutes to do a complete revolution.

ORLANDO

Welcome to Fun Spot America in Orlando.

White Lightning is the reason to stop at this little park.

The pacing and layout are just perfect for a smaller park

Forgive the flash of blindness at the bottom of the first drop when they take your photo.

Freedom Flyer is the inverted coaster at the park

I really like how it has the newer style of restraints.

Again, this is just a lot of fun to ride.

It is next to impossible to photograph at night though.

Space Invader

Double-Deckered Carosel

Rip Curl

Enterprise

Scrambler

Paratrooper (I hear it is heading to Georgia soon)

Tilt-A-Whirl

Sky Coaster.  Apparently this is the largest in the world (but not the tallest)

Tot Spot is the kiddie ride area.

Sea Serpent

Revolver

Bumper Boats

Commander Track (this is my favorite here)

Quad Track

Conquest Track

Thrasher Track

Time to race!

Seriously, if you want to have a good time in Orlando away from the big parks, you cannot go wrong with Fun Spot Orlando.
