Universal Studios Orlando

Welcome to Universal Orlando Resort and to Universal Studios Florida

This is the first day of our vacation and we are quite excited to be back in Florida.  We were at the resort for 4 days total so instead of just covering what we did each day, I am going to cover each park and then the two sections of Wizarding World seperately.

First we will look at Universal Studios.  The first attraction you meet is Shrek 4D.  Dad enjoyed it but Mom and myself have done this movie numerous times and we're ready for them to replace it.

Minion Mayhem across the street is extremely popular and draws long lines.  If you don't have to ride in one of the shaking seats, you can basically walk right in if you do the stationary seating.

This attraction gets the award for best pre-show movies.

Next door is Rip Ride Rock-It!

If you catch the coaster early in the day you can get multiple re-rides.  I listened to Sabotage by Beastie Boys, Pump It by Black-Eyed Peas and Stayin' Alive by KC and the Sunshine Band.

I think we ended up riding ET a total of four times during our visit.  This dark ride is just a lot of fun.  To me, it's Universal's Peter Pan dark ride.

Headed into Springfield next.

The Taco Truck has really good food.  I recommend the loaded nachos.  Lard Lad Donuts is in the background.  I wasn't overly impressed with their donuts.

This is actually a food court of several restaurants.  We didn't get a chance to eat here though as the lines were stupid long due to "Peak Week"

Duff Beer was pretty popular this week.

I think they need to offer more pub fare besides just pretzels.

Kang and Kodo's Twirl and Hurl

The main attraction in the area is the Simpsons Ride

The area is really well done.

Men In Black Alien Attack is next.

This shooting ride is extremely detailed and a lot of fun.

The Revenge of the Mummy is a great indoor coaster.

Transformers the Ride is a very confusing ride.  To me it feels like violence for the sake of violence.

Coming soon is Race Through New York with Jimmy Fallon.

Through out the park are different Macy's balloons

The park's only outdoor coaster is Woody Woodpecker.

The park has an animal show called Animal Actors Live

Honestly the show is a bit underwhelming, but if you need a place to sit down in the shade for awhile, this is your place.

That concludes our first day.  Next up will be Islands of Adventure.
