Silver Dollar City - Project 2027

PROJECT 2027

Since our last visit, there's been a lot of progress made on the new attraction.
Here you can see the new façade that has been built for the bottom of the American Plunge lift

It appears that there will also be a water retention pond for American Plunge as well

There are a lot of footers in the retention pond for the new ride

Here you can see the new façade covering the bottom of the lift

With the new ride going over this section of American Plunge, it makes sense that the flume will be covered

A different view of the new façade going in

Lots of work being done on the row of footers under Wildfire's lift

Prep work for moe footers over by PowderKeg

There's more footers over under PowderKeg's first hill

You can see the whirlpool scene here just before the new façade tunnel of American Plunge

Not much exciting progress on the other side of American Plunge

Looks like more rock fill has been added

A better look at the rock fill that has been added

Here are the footers under the first hill of PowderKeg

Lots of footers under Wildfire's lift and then you can see the prep for additional footers

Huge footer next to the whirlpool scene on American Plunge

Footers everywhere

Another cement form has gone up

They are starting to add rock fill to one of the helix clearings close to the train

Looks like the BOH access road is nearing completion

Silver Dollar City - An Old Time Christmas

Today is the first day for the Rhonda Vincent Residency Show in the Red Gold

In total, they will perform 93 shows between now and the end of the season

According to Rhonda, there are a total of 9 different sets of music they'll be performing on rotation so you could go see all three shows each day and see a different play list each time

I really like how she is letting the guys have the spotlight as well in these sets.

We are also super excited that she has been extended for another season and will be back in 2026 for another Christmas residency.

We ran out of time for the train on our last visit, so we made it a priority today

They had both 504 and 14 running today

Grandpa is out telling the Christmas story again this season

We finally were able to catch the Grand Fir Lighting Ceremony on the Plaza

The house band performs some Christmas musical hits before the tree lights up

Pretty impressive looking tree

Since this is the final season for the Holly Jolly Christmas Parade, we figured we better watch it

It will be interesting to see if any of these floats are retained for the new parade starting next season

We had to see the Saloon show again - it is really good this year

We ended our day with the Living Nativity
