Since our last visit, they have added blue and white lanes to Patriot's Plunge

The lanes now have two white on both sides with two blue in the middle and then red sides with a blue undercoat for the entire slide

Elsewhere in the park, Aventure Reef - the new waterfortress has gone vertical

PROJECT 2026

The roof on the expanded tunnel looks to be nearing completion

The cement slab appears to be done and now they are moving earth and gravel in to fill in around it

The wooden boards sticking up mark where the end of the old tunnel started

They also have a board here at the end of the new section.  It appears that the tunnel will not go all the way to the bridge that goes over the cannal.

It will be interesting to see if the tunnel will get covered back up with earth

There is a digger over by the zigzag walkway near the Falls.

We are curious what is going to become of the Falls since they dug out behind it

Some construction fencing is really all that's happened over here since last time

Not much going on over on the Wildfire side of the construction area

They have a fence around this unused flume section from Jim Owens float trip.

Apparently they are working at night on this area as there are heavy duty lighting rigs out there.

The cleared area beyond Wildfire and PowderKeg has grown some since our last visit but the rainy weather has probably slowed down progress

Silver Dollar City - New Saloon Show

 

The new season for the Silver Dollar Saloon kicked off this week

The Saloon is featuring an all-new show for this season

The show starts off with the cast receiving a letter from a famous Broadway producer

The producer and his assistant Rose explain to Bart and the girls that they want to stage a reenactment of a famous duel that happened here in the Saloon

Bart will play the role of the infamous MEAN MURPHY

and the producer will play Choctaw Charlie

Oh and in this story, Bart has died

Oh no! It's MEAN MURPHY

I know you're asking if there is crowd interaction this year

Yes indeed.  If you sit in the "magic seat" you will get picked

The duel starts

Charlie accidentally falls through the floor of the balcony

The producer and Rose decide that they don't need Broadway and declare they're staying here at the Saloon instead

Silver Dollar City - Unknown Construction

Some major construction going on beyond Outlaw Run

This is rumored to be for a massive new back of house  road to bring in construction equipment and ride pieces to the construction site.

Once completed it will definitely change the look of the area.  It probably also means Hobo Junction will be removed soon

This is brisket baked into a flaky pastry.  The flavor is pretty good, but the way it is made causes it to be extremely greasy and the texture is more of a "pot roast" then what you would expect from brisket

The park finally learned to just use large plastic cups instead of actual jars.  The fruit was fresh and juicy, the jello and whipped topping was nice, the shortbread was extremely dry and could have used some juice or something to make it easier to eat

Flavorful.  Just enough spice.  Very juicy.  A nice surprise

Just a reminder that the passport is only good through the end of Spring Exposition.  What that means is you can use the passport on multiple visits during this festival, but once the festival ends so do your remaining food credits on your card.

We really appreciated that all of the food selections we received were full servings.

We cannot speak for items we did not try, but very happy with the sizes of things we did get

Festival Season has arrived at Silver Dollar City

The first festival of the season is the Spring Exposition, which is brand new for 2025

There are some small decorations scattered around the Square.

Parasol Sky adds color to Valley Road

Heritage Hall has become Fest House for the festival

The Hall has been converted back to its "flex space" personality.  There are food booths along the walls and then lots of benches to eat at

There are three different sets of acts that perform on the stage throughout the day

The first set belongs to the Garbonzo's Polka Band

The second set belongs to Cajun Fever

The final set belongs to Darby's Dixielanders

The Plaza stage opened today with the Misssouri State Dixieland Band

Performing throughout the day on The Plaza stage is Kinfolk Bluegrass Band

Performing in the Opera House is All That Clogging Company performing their show "Down-Home Clogging Jamboree"

Large cast of talented cloggers.  Very much appreciated the lesson on how Irish Dance, Tap-Dance and Clogging are different.  Up until that point, I had no idea

Finally, back up on the Square on the General Store Porch, we have Ragtime Revue.  A one-man piano show.  He can really make that piano sing and dance
