Six Flags St. Louis - Joker Update

Time to check in on Joker.  First thing you will notice, they have removed the construction walls

Next, the giant Joker face entrance has been installed on the funhouse

There is a lot of queue line in this area

Luckily this area has a nice shade structure

The funhouse is making progress finally

Most of the outside siding and roof have been installed.  You can see that they have most of the framing installed inside

After you exit the fun house you are funneled into this area which leads to the grouper for loading

Here is a better look at the area you will wait in before being grouped.

From what I have heard, they are getting very close to being able to test the ride

The exit side of the funhouse

Looking through you can see the mouth of the entrance to the funhouse.  You can also see the framing inside the funhouse that will make up the maze

The face entrance is so unsettling.  We love it

This could be the best DC themed ride Six Flags St. Louis has produced to date

We know it will be worth the wait - but we really wish they would have started construction sooner so we could have enjoyed it during the summer portion of the season

Six Flags St. Louis - Park Update

The Carousel is not showing much progress again this season.  We know that it will be amazing when it returns, but there are kids starting Kindergarten who have never seen the Carousel operate

Fright Fest installation has begun.  The arbor tunnels are now closed and apparently the one closest to Thunder River will be themed to the Spider Infestation.  Also notice that Fright Fest begins on Friday the (September) 13th.

Fences for the cemetery have arrived in Palace Gardens

The stage has been set for Deadman's dance show

The other arbor tunnel will be themed to Trolls

Looking inside you can see some really cool looking props hanging down

Looking over into the other tunnel from the Mr. Freeze queue line you can see they are hanging up lots of cobwebs today.

Silver Dollar City - Park Update

The new rentals building is open and operational at the front gate of the park

Huge improvement over the tent they had.

Installation of the lights for Foggy Hollow is on going as Pumpkins in the City gets closer.

Oasis - Construction Update

Since our last visit, the sling shot towers have been completely installed

This marks the first ride to be installed (granted some additional components still need to be added)

There's also quite a bit of activity where one of the coasters are supposed to be located in the park, so perhaps we will see it go vertical in the near future

Worlds of Fun - Park Update

Frames and supports for MAMBA's new queue shade structures have finally gone vertical

There will be a structure for each level of the queue line

It is interesting that MAMBA has gone this long without the park addressing the need for shade to protect its guests

It will be extremely nice once completed

It is a shame they waited until the end of daily operations to actually make any real progress on getting them installed, but we will have them for next season!

Oasis - Construction Update

Quite a bit of activity going on at the holding lot of Oasis.  Here you can see a piece of the sling shot tower has been loaded up transporting to the construction site

One thing we noticed was that there were a lot of blue track pieces missing from our last visit

It appears that another piece of the sling shot tower is being prepped for transportation back here

Lots of yellow track

I believe these are the final two pieces of the sling shot tower to go to the site

Not sure what this is, but it looks interesting

Who is ready to see a coaster go vertical?

Lots of track

One last look at the remaining blue track pieces - we have no idea where the other pieces have been placed.

Back at the actual park, they are working hard on getting the sling shot towers installed

Some interesting work going on at the top of the park

It looks like footers for something might be going in

Another look at that area

Looking from the other way you can see rebar has been staged for installation

I think we are getting closer to the "exciting" portion of construction.
We cannot wait to see a coaster go vertical
