World Food & Wine Festival (WOF)
Welcome to World Food & Wine Festival at Worlds of Fun.
The festival area is set up in Europa - which I think is an excellent location.
There are numerous vendors this year providing wine samplings.
They include local wineries: Arcadian Moon (Higginsville, MO), Belvoir Winery (Liberty, MO), Les Bourgeois (Rocheport, MO), & Somerset Ridge (Paola, KS).
Other wineries represented are from California (the state) as well other countries, including: Italy, Spain and Argentina.
Worlds of Fun has included pairings with these wines that include: BBQ Shrimp & Grits, Mediterranenan Antipasto Skewer, Coconut Chicken with a Mango & Pineapple Chutney, Beef Wellington, Mini Three-Cheese Macaroni Cake Bites, and Mini Cheesecakes.
This is the sampling from Somerset Ridge, the wines include a Buffalo Red and a Citrano. The Citrano was very tasty and the Buffalo Red was semi-sweet. The pairing was a coconut chicken with a chutney. It was pretty tasty.
I really appreciate the park branching out and trying new things. These food events are proving to be very popular, especially with the season pass holders.
Park Update (WOF)
Things got a little interesting in Bicentennial Square. They have fenced off the entire area around the old games area that has been receiving attention.
It is also interesting to note that a large trash container is full of old decorations and flats that used to adorn the games that were once held here. It was located backstage and could only be seen from SteelHawk so unfortunately no photos.
In other news, Brass Brigade has debuted and is now roaming the midways.
That's all for this update. No new markers or movement around the "sign"
Oceans of Fun
Welcome to Oceans of Fun - Worlds of Fun's waterpark.
The first thing that you see when you enter the waterpark is Paradise Falls.
The water fortress features numerous slides and water activities.
Next is this massive waterslide complex. It features 3 drop capsule body slides that are called Predators' Plunge. Those are the three highest slides you see.
The complex also features 3 tube slides. The purple and yellow slide is called Constrictor and then the two other blue slides are called Sharks' Revenge.
Surf City Wavepool is massive and it was PACKED today.
New this year - FREE TUBES. All I can say is, "it's about time!"
The tallest slide at the park is Hurricane Falls. It is a family raft slide.
The lazy river also has FREE tubes this year. It is called Caribbean Cooler.
Diamond Head is a trio of body slides that are really old school.
I'm not going to lie, I get terrified that I am going to fly out every time I ride them.
The award for the best logo in a waterpark goes to Typhoon.
This twin set of body slides is probably my favorite attraction in the park.
Aruba Tuba is the oldest set of tube slides in the park. It empties into Coconut Cove.
Welcome to Coconut Cove - a HUGE activity pool
You'll notice there are small slides and floating animals in this pool.
There is also a very popular obstacle course walk in this pool as well.
There are two areas in the park for the younger kids. This is Splash Island
There is also Crocodile Isle and Captain Kidd's Pirate Ship.
There's also an "Adults Only" pool because you know... "adult drinks"
Finally the park has a Shoot the Chutes ride called Monsoon.
I had a great time at Oceans of Fun.
With how hot it was today, in the water was the place to be.

Time Traveler Construction (SDC)
Time to check in with Project 2018 at SDC.
You'll notice that some new sticks have appeared. This one says Column
It appears that these markers have specific coordinates on them.
More markers located on the hill above the Echo Hollow restrooms.
There are markers all around the Echo Hollow restrooms.
I would be surprised if the restrooms survive this new project.
There are several markers under ThuNderaTion.
More markers around the back of the Echo Hollow restrooms.
Electrical markings underneath the ThuNderaTion station.
Those same markings continue on into the woods under the the track.
One last look at those markings snaking under the ThuNderaTion track.
The clearing has expanded. What you cannot see is a new retaining wall that has been installed over the hill to the left near the far turnaround on TNT. The tree clearing has really been expanded as well and is quite noticeable from the track of TNT. In other news, a major project office double-wide trailer has arrived and is now located near the TNT lift hill. There was a lot of activity there Friday afternoon with people coming and going. The trailer is only visible (from in the park) on the lift hill.

Como Town Amusement Park
Welcome to Como Town Amusement Park. Let's take a look around the park. Most of the park consists of kiddie rides so I will just label the photos with the rides' name.
Hodge-Podge-Park - this area has an assortment of climbing structures, dig sites and caves to explore. It also has a splash pad included with admission.
This is the splash pad, called Splash Zone
Como Town Swings
Tilt-A-Whirl
The S.S. Swashbuckler
Tornado
Drop Zone
Driving School
Pony Carts
Tea Cups
Traffic Jam Bumper Cars
Fire Brigade (I have to admit, I don't get the point of this ride)
Frog Hopper
Como Town Train
Soarin Eagle
THE main reason I am here is for this coaster - Tiger Trax.
I really enjoyed this coaster. Extremely smooth.
Also, a major upgrade from the coaster that used to be there.
My only complaint is the brakes on very hard at the end of the ride.
On the way out, I took a ride on the Carousel that is at the entrance to the zoo.
It has a lot of ornate animals on it. Beautiful piece of artwork.
