The Summer Show Season has begun at Worlds of Fun.

  

Bow Wow Luau is performing at the Country Junction Stage

  

Muttallica is back with this new show featuring some new furry stars

 

They perform 3 shows daily, except Mondays

 

New for 2019 at the Peanuts Showplace is Space Beagle

This musical comedy takes Snoopy on an adventure where he builds a dog house spaceship and flies into the space with the help of Charlie Brown and Lucy

It's a cute show filled with some fun songs.

Moulin Rouge received some changes to its stage for this season

Road Trip: Sounds of the Cities is back with a new stage and new song line up

   

Road Trip is presented four times on the hour most days this summer.  It's a great show and features a very talented group of musicians.  Plus the air conditioning is nice during the hot KC summer.

Opening Weekend (OOF)

Welcome to Opening Weekend at Oceans of Fun

Heading into the park you can see Paradise Falls on your right.

Paradise Falls is a multi-level waterfortress that features cascading waters, multiple slides and plenty of fun for the whole family

Surf City Wavepool is a large pool that creates giant waves

Predators' Plunge is a trio of drop capsule body slides.  Each slide features a slightly different layout, which will cause sliders to want to try out all three.

Sharks' Revenge are twin raft slides. One features a straight down drop, the other features a camel back hump drop.

The final slide in the complex is Constrictor which features tight helices where riders can feel the G-forces as they navigate the slide.

Hurricane Falls is the park's family raft slide adventure

Caribbean Cruiser is the park's lazy river

Diamond Head was not open today due to some technical difficulties.

I keep hearing that this will be its final season

Typhoon is a pair of racing body slides.

Aruba Tuba is a pair of raft slides.  One features and open course while the other features numerous enclosed portions along its route.

Coconut Cove is a large activity pool

There are numerous slides, an obstacle course, and floating structures to climb on

The final attraction at the park is Monsoon.  A shoot-the-chutes style ride that always makes a big splash.  Oceans of Fun is now open daily for the summer season.

Pig Pen's Petting Zoo - NOW OPEN (WOF)

The New Pig Pen's Petting Farm is NOW OPEN in Planet Snoopy at Worlds of Fun

Let's take a look at the exhibits inside.  Side note, you can purchase food to feed the animals from a cashier in the middle of the structure.

Moving in a clockwise motion from the main entrance.  First up are Pygmy Goats

Lambs

Miniature Horses

Miniature Donkeys

Alpacas

Calf with some Chickens

Ducks and a Rabbit

The outside lot (in between the main building and Lucy's Tugboat) features goats

Sheep.

This is a great addition to Planet Snoopy and is proving to be quite popular with park guests.

Bluegrass & BBQ (SDC)

Welcome back to Silver Dollar City and to Bluegrass and BBQ Festival

In the Saloon, this year's show, Sagebrush Sadie's Wild West Adventure is playing

One thing we noticed is that there are only 2 returning members from last year's cast.

The show features mostly new numbers, including "All He Cares About is Love" from Chicago and "All I Do the Whole Night Through" from Singing in the Rain.

The main part of the show features a Night Court themed session with the Honorable Doody B. Small

The show is quite enjoyable and we figure it will get tighter in the acting as the season progresses.

The two returning members can be seen here in the lower right of the photo.  Miss Tillie (purple dress) and Charlie.

Definitely recommend going to watch this show sometime this season.

  

Ray Cardwell & the Tennessee Moon performing in the Dockside Theatre

The House of Bar-B-Que is back at the Red Gold Heritage Hall

Like normal, there are many different dining booths you can purchase from around the perimeter of the room, with tables in the middle.

The mason jar desserts are back again this year and extremely popular

Bull Harmon & Bull's Eye was performing on the stage in Red Gold.

A couple of the meals that we got here include this loaded baked potato with brisket.  It came with baked beans and coleslaw (I asked for mine on the side, but it usually comes on top of the brisket on the potato)

You can also get a platter which comes with brisket strips, baked beans, potato salad and a breadstick roll.

The Sons of the Silver Dollar have returned for a new season and are featuring a new member from Joplin.  He's the one in the blue.  They will be performing at different venues depending on the day during the festival.

  

In the Riverfront Playhouse, Monroe Crossing was performing.

  

The big concert tonight in Echo Hollow featured Ronda Vincent and the Rage.

As a special surprise, Ronda's mother came up and sang a couple of songs with the Rage.  She was there promoting their families' Bluegrass Festival later this summer in Greentop, MO, where Ronda is originally from.

As normal, Ronda Vincent and the Rage put on an amazing show.  There's no doubt why she is considered the Queen of Bluegrass.

Make sure you get down to the 'City during this event before the Summer-time rush.  This is always one of our favorite times of the year because it truly gets back to the roots of the park.
