Ober Gatlinburg Alpine Slide

ALPINE SLIDE

Welcome to the Alpine Slide at Ober Gatlinburg

We are ready to ride.  Sure hope the people in front of us aren't slow.

She says she is ready to ride as well.

As much as I would have liked to have gone full out.  My cart tried to fly out on a couple of curves, so I decided full out might be a bad idea.

I have to admit, I found the Alpine Slide to be better than the Mountain Coaster.

The end of the run.  Such a fun ride.

Ober Gatlinburg Ski Mountain Coaster

SKI MOUNTAIN COASTER

Welcome to the Ski Mountain Coaster at Ober Gatlinburg

You really cannot see much of the course from the station area.

All right. We are heading on up the mountain.

This is a really long lift hill.

Surprised that I didn't see any wild life.

Nope.  Still not to the top.

Almost there.

Unfortunately this is probably the roughest of all of the alpine coasters in the area.

It was like they weren't very careful when putting in the straight sections as they are extremely bumpy and it really ruins the ride.

Which is very unfortunate because the layout has a lot of potential.  With that being said, we all agreed this was our least favorite of the 4 alpine coasters in the area.

Ober Gatlinburg

Welcome to Ober Gatlinburg

To get to the main park, you have to take the aerial tramway.

The aerial tram can hold a lot of people at one time.

There goes the lower station.

The two aerial trams act as counterbalances and pass midway up the mountain.

You get some amazing views on the tram.

This is the highest pillar on the route.

Once at the upper station you can do several different activities.

They have an indoor ice skating rink.

We decided to take the skyway to the upper viewing platform.

I was impressed with how long of a trip it was up the mountain.

Here we are at the summit of Mt. Harrison, elevation 3590ft

Yes, a storm is trying to roll in.

It's really pretty up here, but it's going to storm soon.

So we decided to head back down to the main upper building.

It really is a long way down / up.

After riding the other attractions on the mountain it was time to take the aerial tram back down to Gatlinburg.

We had a great time at Ober Gatlinburg.

Goats on the Roof

Welcome to Goats on the Roof and the Goat Coaster.

Yes, there are literally GOATS on the ROOF.

Here is the load station.

Waiting our turn to head out on the course.

Headed on up.

The lift actually takes you up a long way.

Nope.  Still not all the way to the top yet.

Once you get to the top, push your handles forward and fly down the course.

Goat Coaster is probably my favorite of the mountain coasters in the area.

You really fly around the corners.

The final helix.

Coming into the brake run.

Enjoyed my ride so much, decided to take another lap.
