Park Changes (WOF)

Today's update is courtesy of Bleck & Bleck Architects, the firm behind the redesign of the new gate area.  We have learned from their Facebook page that this structure was done completely by modular and that is why it is going up so quickly.

From this angle you get a better view of how the large LED screen will go between the two domes.  The building just past the turnstiles building is the new Guest Relations.

An elevated photo taken from the back of the turnstiles building.  You can see the ticketing building just past the turnstiles and you can barely see some of the roof of the Guest Relations on the left.  On the right side you can see the new fencing being added around the new catering area.

Park Changes (WOF)

Steve Murphy came through with another video update of the progress on the front gate area.  You can see that they are prepping for the siding to go on the building that was the former Guest Relations.  It looks the new Rental and Locker building is done from this angle.

The new Guest Relations building is also preparing for its siding to be installed.  If you look off in the distance it appears that the remaining Tivoli building might be receiving sides so that it can be enclosed.

They sure are making short work on the turnstiles building.  The cupolas have been added and now the building towers over its surroundings.

Finally if you look past the construction you can see the roof of the newest pavilion.  Hopefully we can get another progress shot of that area soon.

I still cannot believe this is Worlds of Fun - I barely recognize the area anymore.  Major improvement and I am super excited to see this area in person.

Time Traveler Construction (SDC)

Carr Excavating has released a new set of photos of the onsite construction.   Today we are looking at a retaining wall that has been installed near the station.

Down underneath the station now you can get a better look at the wall.

Park Changes (WOF)

Today the crew started putting the roof on the turnstile building.

Spinsanity Construction (SFSTL)

Today it looks they finished installing the ride platform's plate.  This was a necessary step so that they could start installing the actual seats.

Time Traveler Construction (SDC)

We have some new photos of the progress at the Time Traveler site thanks to sandunerider.  The first thing you are going to notice is that our view into the construction site is going to be rather limited now until after the park opens.

The park has decided to build a new fence and what looks to be a new gate.  I'm sure that it will be used as access to Echo Hollow for the their new Concert Series.

They are putting up a fence on the other side of the entrance as well.

The major news is that the ride's station and maintenance bay is growing even taller.

You can kind of see how walls are starting to go up on what we will call the 2nd level.

Here is a better view of the walls that have gone up on the 2nd level.

There's not much visible change on the rest of the ride.  There is a crane up though (you can barely see it through the trees towards the left center of the photo) so they must be moving something.

The final photo for this update shows the hill by Echo Hollow.  More footers have popped up, but at this point - until some steel starts going up it is hard to even begin to come up with what the layout might look like.

Park Changes (WOF)

Worlds of Fun released a video today of the progress from the "front side" of the turnstiles today.

To give a better idea of how this new plaza will be laid out - you can see the new ticketing building on the right side of this photo.  The balloon icon should be where that CAT is located.

The area between the two window points will be where the large LED screen will be located.

The ride continues to grow.  The ride platform was installed today on the track.

Falcon's Flight Construction (WOF)

In Europa, the control booth for Falcon's Flight is being constructed for Falcon's Flight.

The foundation for the ride is nearing completion as well.  It appears there is 1/4th of the ring that still needs to have cement laid.

Park Changes (WOF)

They are making a lot of progress on the new turnstile building (which is the green metal to the right).

We also received confirmation from the park that this building with the dome will be the new home of Guests Relations.  We do not know what the former Guest Relations building will become.

Mustang Runner Construction (WOF)

Worlds of Fun still has 7 weeks to get everything finished on what has to be one of the busiest off seasons for park construction in several decades.  We will start with the construction of Mustang Runner in the Americana section of the park.  All photos were taken from video posted by the park.

The foundation for the ride is getting much closer to being finished.

They have close to 3/4th of the cement ring laid.  They should finish it by the end of the week and then start installing the actual ride next week.

Today the park started setting the ride into place inside the park.
