Six Flags St. Louis - Boo Fest

 

Day time fun for the younger guests can be found at Boo Fest at Six Flags

On the steps of the Empire Theater you can find Spooky Mooky Mayhem - a dance party with the Looney Tunes gang

The McBoogles Family Hayride returns this year.  Two of the family members are out on the midway greeting pary guests

The entrance is a little hidden, you have to go through the Axis Chemicals Arcade

The hayride takes you into the backstage area of the park

You go past various scenes while a story is told over the wagon's speakers

The use of old Holiday in the Park decorations always makes me laugh

Inside the Empire Theater is the new Monster Party.  Experience a science experiment gone wrong which leads to making the perfect Halloween treat

Another fun day time attraction is Cornelius' Straw Maze where younger guests can collect candy from Cornelius the scarecrow

Welcome back to Six Flags St. Louis

It's fall, y'all and the park is celebrating Fright Fest and Boo Fest right now

They always do a great job on the front fountain

The long-running Love at First Fright is back again this season in the Palace Theater

Amazing how long this has been a part of Fright Fest

Deadman's Party is back again this season on the Palace steps

At least someone finally got to ride this ride this season

Mooseburger has been rethemed to Witches Cauldron from Fright Fest and has some specialty foods

The River King Mine Train has become the Haunted Mine Train

Screamin' Eagle has a fun addition to their test seats near the entrance

A fun skeleton band near Tweety's Tweehouse

Rottingham and Bones Cemetery is always a fun place to check out in the Palace Gardens

Worlds of Fun - Haunt Attractions

 

ATTRACTIONS

Welcome to our Halloween Haunt coverage of the Haunted Attractions

SHADOWMORE CEMETERY

This was new this year and is located in the East Asia section

I am not really sure what this is supposed to be.  There weren't any screamsters so it isn't a scare zone

The park refers to it as an experience

So I guess it is just a fancy decorated area

GHOST TRAIN

This was another experience they added this year.  All consists of is the train parked along Forum Road and some fog and lighting.  I didn't get it either

ABYSS

This was a new scare zone in Africa.  Supposedly themed to jungle scientists gone wrong.

Not really scary and honestly I am not sure about the theme

MALICE IN WONDERLAND

This is the current scare zone in Europa and like past years we were left wondering what the point is here.

The characters just sort of exist.  No one attempting to scare

OUTLAWS REVENGE

It has never been a strong scare zone, but at least the screamsters were trying.  This is mainly a sliders area and I did actually witness some actual guest interactions.

Sidenote - maybe the park should really reconsider how to operate scare zones before next season

BLOOD ON THE BAYOU

This has always been one of the stronger houses at the park.  Good visuals and decent jump scares

RIPPER ALLEY

This maze really needs to retire and a new concept put in its place.  Very disappointing

LORE OF THE VAMPIRE

This maze is 20 years old - and it shows.

The screamsters were either tired or bored and it fell very flat

BLOOD SHED

The KING of Halloween Haunt.  The screamsters here are top notch and you'll receive plenty of jump scares

CORNSTALKERS

Coming in clutch again this year is Cornstalkers.  The only thing holding this maze back is the fact that guests are bound and determined to make it a conga line which does not allow the screamsters to reset properly to do jump scares.

PUMKIN EATER

This was the surprise hit last year and it was pretty good again this season

ZOMBIE HIGH

This gets our vote for most improved maze from last season.  There were some decent jump scares for a change
