Super Splash USA - Construction Update

And now for something that was definitely not on our 2024 Bingo Card - Big Surf Waterpark at Lake of the Ozarks will be adding a new waterslide next season.  The last time they added as slide was way back in the early 2000s with the addition of Zambezi Falls (a half pipe style slide)

Looking at the design of the slide pieces that have already arrived at the park, it is fairly easy to see that this is a six-lane mat racing slide.  This will be a huge hit for the park.

After doing some investigating and photo comparing, we have come to the conclusion that this is the former Dolphin Dash from the Columbus Zoo's Zoombezi Bay Waterpark.  Even though this is a used waterslide, this is a major deal for this Mid-Missouri Waterpark

 

Oasis - Construction Update

 

Time to check in on the progress at the new Oasis theme park at Lake of the Ozarks. First off you can see the slingshot ride in all of its glory at the point of the peninsula 

One of the first buildings taking shape appears to be a two-story

Most of the retaining walls are now in place and they are starting the process of installing infrastructure to support the rides and buildings

Crazy to think this will be an operational park sometime next year

Six Flags St. Louis - Joker - NOW OPEN!

 

Joker Carnival of Chaos has finally opened for the season.

I wish that new rides opening late in the season (as in during Fright Fest) wasn't a thing at Six Flags St. Louis, but here we are once again

With that being said, the fun house portion will not open this season

So for right now, they are using the bypass around the funhouse

They are currently not assigning seats but there is still a grouper counting off riders

The loading process is extremely long thanks to the design of the floor.  It just takes a long time

The ride features boxes (like what you see here in the corner) that blow out smoke during the ride

There's a sound track that plays the entire time the ride is in motion that adds to the fun

Joker and Rookie Racer have some interactions.  It looks closer than it really is

The ride is proving very popular and the lines are quite long

It is amazing how different this area of the park looks now with these additions

On the old Xcalibur ride pad is Nexus of Evil

Creatures of the Corn (upchrage house) is located near Skyscreamer

Slaughter House (upcharge house) is located near Mooseburger

Zombieville is located near Chop Six

The Underground is located near Batman

Rottingham & Bones Cemetery is located in Palace Gardens

Jingle Mangle (upcharge house) is located near First Cone

The night is pretty wild at Fright Fest
