Silver Dollar City - Project 2027

PROJECT 2027

The landscape of the new project has really come into focus.
Since our last visit, this entire area has been leveled and fitted with a gravel base

Looking down the pathway where the observation deck was located for PowderKeg.
Will we see a return of this area in the near future?

That is a massive footer.  It will be interesting to see what it is for.

Two interesting pallets of what look like stacked pavers.
Honestly could be something else entirely, but that was our best guess

The Johnny puts into perspective just how tall these footer columns are.
Over the fence is the whirlpool scene for American Plunge

On the Falls side you can see that they are still forming additional footers

They finally leveled out the gravel behind the Falls.
There's some new massive footers there in the middle

Now on the other side of the same lot, you can see just how thick these footers are

It appears that these are 8 bolt footers if that helps anyone with identifying the manufacturer

As we reported last time, the tunnel entrance to American Plunge has a fence completely around it.  We're willing to bet that it will be a permanent feature

Here is a 4 bolt footer that makes us think Mack

One more look at this side.
With how many footers there are now on this side, we're confident that the station will not be in the area like some theorized in the beginning of construction

Looking towards WildFire.  Those weird beams are still there.  Nothing has changed.

Peeking over to look at the American Plunge Lake.
They have added some more landscaping, including trees to this new winding pathway

Will this be the new queue for the ride?

Two machines just beyond the Lake were working

Another footer going in here.  Not sure what the machines are doing

They brought in a new construction shed
It blocks the view of the footers by PowderKeg.... (groan)

Lots of footers by the WildFire maintenance building

There's that big footer again that we showed earlier

More footers going in here

Here's the biggest change since last time.  We're pretty confident this will be the station.
It is actually two foundations with one just down the hill (towards WildFire) from this one

It is interesting that the station is located in the one grove of trees that they left

Here you can see the second foundation just down the hill.
It can be best viewed from WildFire and PowderKeg, but obviously we're not going to be the ones to take photos from those rides to show you

It is curious how this clearing does not have any footers, which makes us wonder if it is even part of the project or if they haven't made it there yet.

They do seem to be leveling that area now, so maybe it is only a matter of time.
In other news, no track or supports are on site (or any of the holding lots).  We expect them to start showing up in mid to late May at the earliest
