Mystic River Falls (SDC)

Now that the park is open for the season, let's take a look at the progress that's been made on the "New for 2020 Attraction" that is currently being built.

(taken near Toy Store in Fireman's Landing)
The lake appears to be at a different elevation than what the new ride area will be at.

This appears to be the foundation for the what could be the load station

So that they do not "paint themselves into a corner" it appears they are working at the closest point to the park first, which we will show you here in a bit.

Here you can get a good idea of the elevation change between the construction area and the new lake

The new lake footprint is going to be significantly smaller

Still a lot of grading being done in this area.  You'll also notice that the "SAVE" wall is no longer standing.  Apparently they were waiting for a pump to be moved before removing that last section.

You can see the foundations for what appears to be a station way over at the far side of the construction area.

The most exciting work being done is located in this corner - which we mentioned earlier in this update.

The first sections of the new trough have been formed.

This very tight corner should produce some nice splashes

Here is a better view of the corner and a view of the next section that they are working on.

One thing that we found a little surprising is how close the river will be to the pathway.

Here's a better look at the corner and the forms they have in place for the next section of trough

Rebar in place for the next section.  They're just waiting on forms to be created, which I imagine is why there is a pile of wood there next to this section.

Here you can see the area where they are working.  Like I mentioned earlier, it is obvious that they do not want to "paint themselves into a corner" and that's why this section is being constructed first.

They're still doing earth moving in this area of the site.

I'm sure there will be much more grading done in this area before it is all said and done.

One last photo from the pathways before we move on.

Here's that foundation for what we think will be the station

One last look at the lake.  This is going to be fun following the progress of this project this season.  Make sure you bookmark our blog so that you do not miss out on any of our updates.
