Mardi Gras Festival (SFFT)

Welcome to Fiesta Texas and to their brand new MARDI GRAS FESTIVAL.

I really enjoyed the decorations in the main street area of the park.

The Looney Tunes characters were all dressed in Mardi Gras attire.

Most of the Mardi Gras attractions were located near Rockville High School.  Here you could purchase specialty foods (like King Cakes) and adult beverages (including Hurricanes)

The main attraction for the Festival is the daily parade.

The parade is led by the King William Brass Band.

The parade features a lot of the characters you would expect to find in a Mardi Gras parade.

The floats are very well done.

Each unit had a different theme and had accompanying characters parading along with the floats.

It was literally raining beads from each float - so if you left without at least one strand then you were not trying hard enough.

The Day of the Dead unit was probably my favorite.

These guys were having a great time.

The parade ends with Bugs and Babs Bunny as the Mardi Gras Royalty.
This is a great event that I see expanding to other parks soon.

Six Flags Fiesta Texas

Welcome to Fiesta Texas!  This year they are celebrating 25 years of thrills.

One of the main reasons I decided to visit the park is this ride - BATMAN: the Ride.

This is a S&S Free-Fly Coaster and as you can see there is nothing "normal" about this coaster.

As soon as you disengage the lift hill your seats begin to flip and rotate.

At the end of the top track you flip underneath and the train then hangs from the track.

Due to the nature of the trains, it really doesn't matter if it is on top or hanging from the track.

This is a crazy ride.  I think my most disorienting lap on the coaster had me flip 7 times.

Also in the Rockville area of the park is this very cool tea cup style ride called Hustler.

Amerigoround.

Scream! is the park's S&S double shot tower complex.

The other main coaster in this area is Poltergeist.

Poltergeist is a Premier LSM launched spaghetti bowl coaster.

The coaster features quite the knot of coaster track.

Let's head into the Fiesta Bay Boardwalk.

Scooby Doo Ghost Blasters is one of the anchor attractions in this area.

Waverunner.

Spinsanity.

Fireball.

Hurricane Force 5 and the Crow's Nest Ferris Wheel.

The coaster in this area is called Pandemonium.

This tea cup spinner coaster provides a unique ride every lap.

The next section of the park is called Spassburg.

Whirligig.

Kiddee Koaster.

Superman Krypton Coaster is the major attraction in this area.

This B&M floorless coaster interacts with the quarry wall.

This is possibly the best floorless coaster in the country.

It's a lot of fun.

Bugs White Water Rapids is the park's log flume ride and it is top notch.

The log flume even features a few roller coaster segments.

The ride is themed to the Singing Sword and has several characters along its route.

SkyScreamer is the park's taller swing ride.

In the Crackaxle Canyon section there are two great roller coasters.  The first is Road Runner Express.

The Arrow minetrain is a hit with the families.

The train is themed to Wile E. Coyote chase of the Roadrunner.

It's probably one of the better minetrains out there.

The star attraction at the park is Iron Rattler.

This RMC re-built steel/wooden coaster is a wild ride.

The coaster even features a barrel roll.

I really like the tunnel through the quarry wall at the end of the ride.

In the Los Fesivales section, there are two coasters including Boomerang Coast to Coaster.

The other is Goliath.

This B&M inverted roller coaster uses the Batman layout.

It is a great ride and an excellent addition to the park.

I have a little time before the parade so I decided to take a lap on the train.

I really like the look of this tunnel area through the quarry wall.
I had a great time at the park and cannot wait to return in the near future.
